Living Well: A New Model for Rural Development

The Glades County Wellness Vision is a long-term public-private economic development strategy designed to position Glades County as a nationally recognized rural destination for wellness, healthcare innovation, waterfront experiences, tourism, entrepreneurship, recreation, and quality-of-life driven investment.

Centered around the "Living Well" philosophy, the vision leverages Glades County's unique waterfront assets, recreation opportunities, rural character, Opportunity Zone designations, and community partnerships to create a new model for rural economic development.

  • Countywide vision planning
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Waterfront and marina concepts
  • RV wellness resort concepts
  • Tourism and recreation strategy
Phase Two

Newvion Wellness Innovation Boat

The first implementation project located at the Moore Haven Marina, serving as the headquarters for the Glades County Wellness Vision.

The Innovation Boat functions as the operational office supporting the Qualified Opportunity Zone Business (QOZB), business recruitment and investor relations center, podcast and media production studio, wellness and tourism promotion hub, and startup entrepreneurship center.

Designed to create immediate visibility and activation while recruiting wellness businesses, recreation operators, healthcare partners, investors, and hospitality groups.

Phase Three

RV Wellness Resort Waterfront

Redevelopment and repositioning of the former Okeechobee Waterway RV Resort & Marina property as part of a larger wellness, recreation, tourism, and waterfront redevelopment strategy.

Working collaboratively with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Glades County, City of Moore Haven, regional planning partners, private landowners, tourism stakeholders, investors, and development partners.

Envisioned as a signature implementation opportunity that may serve as a national model for rural waterfront wellness and recreation redevelopment.

Community Gathering

"Rather than focusing on a single development project, the Glades County Wellness Vision establishes a broader framework for building a sustainable wellness economy that supports tourism growth, healthcare access, local business development, and long-term community vitality."
